Who are are…

The Canadian Society of Ocularists is a professional not-for-profit organization representing Ocularists in Canada.

An Ocularist, as defined by the CSO, is a person who "forms, fits, colors and fabricates ocular prostheses over retained globes, disfigured or not, with or without useful vision; over congenitally abnormal or phthisical globes; in eye sockets following enucleation or evisceration, and in orbits following exenteration; to properly fit and match each individual patient for cosmetic, physical and emotional well being."

Mission statement

The goal of the Canadian Society of Ocularists is to improve the quality of ophthalmic prosthetic services offered to the public.

The role of the Canadian Society of Ocularists is to inform the public, health professionals and government about custom-fitted and fabricated ocular prosthetics.

The Canadian Society of Ocularists is a national organization of trained and skilled members from coast to coast.
